Field Notes – Week Two!

We are so happy, proud, and grateful to share that we gathered 17,538 signatures for this week! It’s been so inspiring to work with volunteers from Vancouver, Anacortes, Everett, and all across the state make this happen with their passion and creativity. We couldn’t do any of this without them — hurrah for our volunteers!

It gets even better. Combined with our first week of gathering, we are at 26,545 signatures. This is an incredible total, which goes to show how hard our volunteers are working and just how many Washington voters want I-1639 on the ballot.

We started off strong, and we’re getting stronger every day. We have to be: this being the shortest signature drive in Washington state history. As of today, we only have 10 days until our deadline. We need you! And your friends. And your neighbors. Your coworkers, your family, anyone who believes in reducing gun violence in Washington and can help us gather signatures.

This weekend, we recommend the Jimmy Buffet concert in Seattle, Woodland Parks “Zoo Tunes”, and the Taste of Tacoma — they all sound pretty fun, right? Contact us to sign up for your shift!

If you’ve already been gathering, please return your petitions ASAP, so we can keep our count accurate and make sure they’re ready for the Secretary of State!
